About Me
Hello! I'm Sharon Joanna Azariah.
Hello! I'm Sharon Joanna Azariah, currently pursuing my M.S. in Data Science at George Washington University. I'm originally from India, and I earned my B.E. in Computer Science Engineering. My background in engineering gave me a strong foundation in programming and problem solving, but data science is where I found the perfect mix of logic, creativity, and real world impact.
I got started in data science because I wanted to build work that goes beyond code and truly improves decisions. I was drawn to the idea that data can reveal patterns people cannot easily see, explain why outcomes happen, and help teams act with confidence. Over time, that curiosity turned into a passion for building end to end solutions, working through messy data, exploring it deeply, building models, and translating results into clear insights that real people can use.
I'm interested in the full spectrum of data roles, including data analyst, data scientist, machine learning engineer, analytics engineer, and data engineer, because I enjoy working across the entire pipeline. I like asking the right questions, extracting and cleaning data, designing experiments, building dashboards, training machine learning models, and improving how data systems and workflows run in production. What matters most to me is delivering outcomes that are reliable, measurable, and easy for others to understand.
I'm especially passionate about using data and AI for impact and the public good. I'm motivated by projects that increase transparency, reduce inefficiency, improve access, and support better decisions in areas like health, community outcomes, and public systems. I care about building responsible solutions that are explainable, fair, and trustworthy, not just technically impressive.
Outside of data science, I enjoy journaling, watching movies, and baking. I love anything that blends creativity with structure, and I bring that same energy to building data products that are both thoughtful and useful.
